Our story

"Rankdarbių skrynia" ("The Handicraft Chest") is more than just a craft workshop. It is a space where community is born every day, talents are discovered and a meaningful future is created.

The journey began on 1 June 2020 in Marijampolė, when the Community Centre "Židinys" (formerly known as the Marijampolė Day Centre for Seniors and People with Disabilities "Židinys") established the social workshops. The main goal has remained the same since day one – to give people with psychosocial disabilities the chance to join the open labour market, gain valuable work experience and create quality, warm-hearted products.

How we have grown

The team has grown – today 12 dedicated makers create in the workshops.
The range has expanded: unique sewn items, handmade wreaths, practical bags and cosmetic bags, stylish accessories and other cosy home accents are born by hand. We also offer embroidery and grave care services.
Higher quality was born: we constantly improve, look for new ideas and take pride in every item we make.
